Most Common Browser Issues
If you are unable to browse to the administration page, it is possible that your browser proxy settings need adjusting.
If you are using Internet Explorer select Tools->Internet Options->Connections->LAN settings. If a proxy server is used, click Advanced and ensure that the address of the PTP250 unit is included in the exclusions list.
If you are using Firefox select Tools->Options->Advanced->Network->Settings. If a proxy server is used, ensure that the address of the PTP250 unit is included in the exclusions list.
If you are able to browse to the administration page, but the user interface does not show it is possible that you do not have java installed, have java or javascript disabled in your browser, or the Java Plugin is not associated with your browser.
To check that you have Java installed and are using the right version, click here and follow the instructions. If you have the correct version of Java installed, locate the Java plugin icon in the taskbar and right click, select Open Control Panel->Java->View and make sure at least one version of Java is enabled.
In the Control Panel now click Advanced->Default Java for browsers and ensure the browser you are using is checked
If you are using Internet Explorer select Tools->Internet Options->Security. Ensure that the security level is set to medium-high at the highest, alternatively if your browser has custom settings, ensure that "Scripting of Java applets" is enabled
If you are using Firefox select Tools->Options->Content. Ensure that "Enable Java" and "Enable Javascript" are checked if the options are available
If you are able to browse to the administration page, and see the user interface but are unable to log in, it is possible that your java proxy is configured incorrectly.
Right click on the Java icon in the task bar and select Open Control Panel. Select General->Network Settings and ensure that "Use browser settings" is selected.
If you have recently updated your browser or your browser is set to automatically update, it is possible that your browser has dis-associated itself with the Java runtime, visit http://www.java.com/en/download to get the latest Java Runtime Environment re-associated with your browser.
Firmware Upgrades
Ocassionally, when upgrading the PTP250 firmware, you might not see new firmware features or fixes on the PTP250. This is due to caching within the browser. Clear your browser's cache to ensure the latest PTP250 user interface displays correctly.
If you are using Internet Explorer select Tools->Delete Browsing History. Check only "Preserve Favorites website data" and "Temporary Internet files" and click "Delete"
If you are using Firefox select Tools->Clear Recent History. check only "Cache", set the time range to clear to "Everything" and click "Clear Now"
